Job Summary:

A motivated Ruby on Rails developer in the early years of their career with an interest in further developing their knowledge of software engineering across languages and platforms. As a developer working primarily in our Chrysalis patient record management system, you will be responsible for maintaining the high standards of quality and professionalism that enable ADHD360 to function as specialist healthcare provider in the ADHD and autism healthcare sectors. You will have the opportunity to develop in role, learn from the technical architecture expertise across our digital development team and drive best practices in software engineering and Agile technical team operation.

Within the ADHD360 digital delivery team, your role will encompass software engineering across our Chrysalis platforms. This will include writing and testing code for new functionality bug fixing and contributing to development of new features. You will help to extend ADHD360’s capability in Ruby on Rails coding and frameworks.

You do not need to have previous experience of working for a healthcare provider, but it is preferrable to have a working knowledge of data security requirements when developing digital systems that incorporate sensitive and personal patient data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work within our development team to support our current products and build new functionality
  • Develop tested, well-structured and clean code.
  • Take responsibility for the sequencing of own tasks to make steady progress from both a technical and functional perspective.
  • Deliver against milestones and deadlines as part of the wider delivery team.
  • Support digital, operational and clinical colleagues where required, reacting to business need, to ensure a seamless digital patient experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails. Coding and debugging/enhancing application performance.
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Javascript, Angular or React and integration of front-end components with back-end logic if preferrable.
  • Experience of Test Driven Development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Organisation skills and an ability to manage own workload.
  • An ability to work on own initiative yet be a key part of a team.
  • Be a natural problem solver.
  • Positive outlook and an ability to work well under pressure.
  • Experience of mobile application languages including Swift and Kotlin (preferred).
  • Previous experience of cloud hosting and platform migration including Heroku and AWS (preferred).
  • Experienced in developing Single Page Applications (SPA)/PWA with RESTful services in Service Oriented Architecture (preferred).
  • Experience working with or integrating with NHS platforms and services (preferred).
